We still do not know the long-term effects or impact of COVID-19 on pregnant women and their babies or on children of any age so it is imperative that you do all you can to prevent your family from contracting it – including getting your children over the age of 6 months vaccinated as soon as possible.
The best defenses against contracting COVID-19 for children under the age of 6 months include frequently washing hands for at least 20 seconds in warm water and soap or using an alcohol-based sanitizer, maintaining a distance of at least 6 feet from any person who does not live in your home, wearing a mask in all public indoor spaces and when you are in the company of any person who does not live in your home and limiting outings – staying home as much as possible. Make sure your eligible children over the age of 6 months are vaccinated as soon as possible.

Please have everyone in your family vaccinated against influenza, the flu, this year. The flu is, like COVID-19, a respiratory illness and is likely to cause unforeseen and life-threatening complications if your child contracts both viruses. Last year’s flu shot is no longer protecting your child. Please click here to learn more about why a flu shot is absolutely vital to your child’s health this season – and perhaps for their entire life.
