Kate’s infectious energy may be the first thing parents and children notice, but they’ll also see she has honed critical thinking skills that help her diagnose accurately to provide prompt and appropriate care to patients.
“When I first meet a patient family, I like to sit down and listen to the families to understand their concerns. I like to treat families like I would want mine to be treated. There is something so rewarding about working with children. I love how honest they are, and their funny stories,” says Kate. As a mom of three children, Kate knows about all about those funny stories. “My kids’ senses of humor keep me laughing; I love children.”
As a child, Kate had several surgeries. She says, “I think being around the hospital staff from such an early age made me extremely comfortable with the healthcare system. Being a mom also gives me a unique perspective for pediatrics.” Kate loves working in urgent care. “I have spent the last 12 years of my career in the Emergency Room; emergency and urgent care is my passion. Because of this background, I do not get too frazzled by things.”
Kate lives in New Lenox with husband Dave and their three children, Charlotte, Ronan and Etta. They enjoy taking family vacations. Their family also loves to take advantage of all that Chicagoland offers, soaking in parks, museums, concerts and restaurants, especially Mexican cuisine.
