About Dr. Jessica Lee
Jessica Lee, MD, Ph.D., graduated Suma Cum Laude from Elmhurst College. She completed a combined MD/Ph.D. degree at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and served her pediatric residency at McGraw Medical Center of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine/Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Dr. Lee is board certified in Pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Physician Scientist Association. She has been involved in a variety of research projects and continues a keen interest in asthma, allergies, and infections, intrigued by the science behind our immune systems.
Dr. Lee says she was drawn to pediatrics because “Kids view the world with wonder…and they are hilarious at times! I’ve always loved working with children, whether babysitting as a teenager or volunteering at a camp for families affected by disabilities as young adults. Pediatrics was a natural choice for me.”
“Parents know their kids better than anyone and love their kids more than anyone else, so I know it’s important to listen to parents very carefully. It’s a privilege to come alongside parents to help their kids achieve their highest potential,” says Dr. Lee. She is committed to education and has taught topics such as immunizations, head shaping, acne, ADHD, and newborn health care visits. Parents are welcome and encouraged to ask as many questions as needed. “I’m approachable and value a parent’s opinion. I also strive to stay updated with the latest medical recommendations.”
Dr. Lee is particularly aware of the need for newborn care. “Parents often need extra support during this period. Anything we can do to unload some of the stress will ultimately benefit the baby and their families.”
Our families with children with special health needs will find Dr. Lee a supportive ally. “I really enjoy caring for kids with complex health needs, such as Down syndrome, autism, and other challenges. I have many friends with disabilities and have spent time around families affected by disabilities since I was a young teen. I love helping these kids and families live their best life.”
Dr. Lee enjoys playing the guitar along with her husband’s (much better) piano playing. At home, Dr. Lee loves to bake and spend time outdoors. And – GREAT NEWS – Dr. Lee and her husband are expecting their own little one!
